A Mellow May

All the activities are starting to wind down and finish up for summer.  So we have a lot of big events in the coming months.

Beren's Den went on their annual hike.  Every year the hikes get bigger and more challenging.

This year we hiked to the top of Multnomah Falls.  It is 1.25 miles of straight up switch backs.
(that's 2.5 miles round trip)

This is the boys before the hike at the bottom of the falls.

This is a view from the top of the falls.  You can see the bridge where we started in the background.

I made Eris join us on the hike, for some much need fresh air and exercise.  She didn't want to go.
But by the end she was all smiles and commented on how much fun she had!

Eris is getting ready to bridge up to the Senior level of Girl Scouts.  As part of her requirements her troop had to meet with younger girls to discuss what they can expect when they become Cadettes.

Beren Crossed Over to the next level of Cub Scouts.  It was a big night for him.  He is now a first year Webelo.  He will be a Webelo for two years before he becomes a Boy Scout.

I am so proud of him!!

He felt pretty important.

I had the opportunity to take Eris to a limited screening of this documentary.  It was such a powerful and moving experience.  Eris was really moved by the stories of these girls as well as outraged.  It gave her a new appreciation for the opportunities in her life.

Our Girl Scout Unit had a movie night.  The girls piled on the floor and snacked while enjoying the movie.  Then they went outside and did some night time badge work.  Observing the sky and nocturnal animals.

Beren's den went to a local amusement park for their year end activity this year.

This was the first time Beren was able to go on some of the bigger rides.  He has never met the height requirement before!

Needless to say they all had a blast!!

I love this photo of Eris's troop.  They just look so big and Girl Scouty!

Our School year is almost over.  We have a ton of fun things happening this summer, so stay tuned!
